Introduction
Short Messaging Service (SMS) is one of the reliable ways to communicate with the leads and provide them with important information regarding their admission process.
SMS is a personalized way of communicating with the leads/prospects with the help of tokens.
SMS is used to trigger OTPs for creating accounts, sending transactional communications like Successful registration, account creation, successful payment & application submission, and Promotional communication like Webinar information, Events information, coupons, codes, new schemes, etc.
SMS is used for almost all the types of important communications.
You can send SMS from Automation, Lead manager, Application manager, and on Raw data as well.
SMS Communication Report
Below are the steps to check the report of SMS communications triggered from Meritto:
- Type "Communication Performance" in the menu search
- All the Job IDs will be visible, You can also filter via Job IDs.
- On the top right corner, click the filter button, and in the 'Medium of Communication', select SMS.
- Click on the Job ID for which you want to see the performance and you will be redirected to the Communication Logs Detailed report page.
- Click On SMS Stats to see the snapshot of the SMS communication via the selected Job ID.
- Mouse hover on the status and you will be able to see the detailed description of the status.
You can further bifurcate the report based on the communication status. - You can also filter for a particular status from the filter button on the top right corner of the page.
SMS report is classified into 9 broad categories on Meritto.
Let us go through each category and its description

Sent:
All SMS sent from the System. -
Delivered:
SMS was successfully delivered to the customer's handset.
The delivery percentage indicates out of sent how many SMS delivered to the customer. -
Clicked:
Total count of unique clicks on the link in the SMS (The click activity is captured when the link used in the SMS is shortened to Meritto link, this is enabled by default on Meritto, hence advised to use a variable for links) i.e. click can be tracked only when the link is available.
The clicked percentage indicates out of delivered how many SMS clicked. -
Absent Subscriber:
The number of communication failed due to the phone being switched off, due to the phone being out of coverage area. Telecom services not providing service for a particular number.
Resolution: Confirm the receiver’s number.
The Absent Subscriber percentage indicates out of sent SMS how many SMS fall into this category. -
Invalid Subscriber:
The number of communications failed due to the wrong mobile number.
Resolution: Confirm the receiver’s number.
The Invalid Subscriber percentage indicates out of sent SMS how many SMS fall into this category. -
DND:
Total Number of SMS not delivered due to NDNC rejected or DND.
The DND percentage indicates out of sent SMS how many SMS failed because the number was registered under DND.

Preference not matched. This error code is received for Service Explicit content only. When the end-user is registered under DND. This is completely based on the DND preference selected by the end-user.

Message Inbox Full:
Total Number of SMS not delivered because the Inbox of subscriber was full.
The Message Inbox Full percentage indicates out of sent SMS how many SMS failed because the Message Inbox was Full. -
Credit Consumed:
Total number of credits consumed for the SMS sent.

Failures:
The total number of SMS Failed under this category is mentioned below (SMS failed due to Absent Subscriber, Invalid Subscriber, DND, and Message Inbox Full are not included in this list as they are calculated separately).To help you identify error codes and to identify reasons for failures here is a list of common error statuses received with a suitable description.

The Sender ID used along with the template ID does not match the registration in the DLT portal

The template ID received is in the wrong format or there is no template ID tag.
