Introduction
WhatsApp Embedded Signup is a streamlined, user-friendly process that simplifies the onboarding of businesses to the WhatsApp Business Platform on Meritto.
Why is it required?

Prerequisites
Before proceeding with the Embedded Signup process, institutes need to have the following information and requirements at hand for smooth onboarding:

Meta Business Manager Account
- Access to an existing Business Manager Account/Business Portfolio, or Ability to create a new one during the process
- The Facebook Business Manager Account should be approved, Without approval, the message limit will be restricted to 250 communications per 24 hours post WABA Activation.

Business Information
- Legal business name
- Business address (Maximum 256 Char including Space)
- Business phone number
- Business Website URL
- Business description (Maximum 512 Char including Space)
- Business Category

WhatsApp Specific Details
- Desired WhatsApp display name (following Meta's guidelines) – Embed Meta’s Guideline link: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/757569725593362
- WhatsApp Business Account name (if creating a new one)
- A dedicated phone number not previously used on WhatsApp and should be able to receive SMS or voice calls on this number for OTP verification
- Delete the account if on WhatsApp & retry after 10-15 min

How to begin with Embedded Sign-up?
To begin with the Embedded Signup (ES) process, follow the steps for Integration a fresh number on WhatsApp:
Note: The underlying process highlights the onboarding of a fresh WhatsApp Business Account only.
- Log in to the Meritto CRM.
- In the Menu panel, type "Extensions" in the search bar as shown.
- Click on the Extensions. In the new page that opens up, click on the "App Store" option as shown.
- Locate the WhatsApp Business App card.
- Click on the "Install" button to begin the Signup process.
- As soon the app is installed, a popup opens up on the screen as shown.
- In the "Get Started", click on the option "New Number".
- In the "Create WhatsApp Business Account" section, click on the option "Login with Facebook".
- Upon clicking the same, a Facebook Popup opens up in the same window as shown below exclusively in the screenshot.
- The page will ask you to login through the Facebook account after which you will proceed to set up your WhatsApp Business Account. If you need to change the same, click on the upper right profile icon to login via a new account.
- Click on the "Continue with <Profile Name>" button to proceed forward.
- In the next section, Facebook will list out all the information regarding which business account affiliated or connected to your Facebook personal account will be used for onboarding. Also, it will list all the permissions and the corresponding billing partner that will be associated with your WABA account. Click on "Get Started" button.

You will be navigated to the screen as shown that gathers information about your business. The business name field will display any business portfolios or Meta Business Accounts that the authenticated business user owns, or has been granted access to. It also gives the User the option to create a new Meta business account/portfolio if they have not reached their portfolio limit. If they have reached their limit, the field will display a warning.

Choose the business portfolio/account from the drop-down or select "Create New Business Portfolio" to proceed with a new Meta business account. Fill up the other details like Country, Email, Address (Optional) and business web page address. Click on "Next" to proceed forward.
- In the next, the User will be provided with the option to configure their WhatsApp Business Account details. This screen displays existing WhatsApp Business Accounts (WABA) already created on the business portfolio selected in the previous screen. It also gives business customers the option to create a new WABA on their existing portfolio, if they haven't reached their WABA limit. If they are creating a new portfolio, they are only given the option to create a new WABA.
- If choosing an existing WABA, the profile dropdown will display any phone profile's already created on the WABA, but also provides the option of creating a new one. Provide the required details as required for WhatsApp Business Account and WhatsApp Business Profile.
- Click on "Next" to proceed forward.
- In the next page, the user will be required to enter their fresh WABA Number. This screen allows the business customer to enter a new business phone number to associate with their WhatsApp Business Account. It also allows the customer to choose how they wish to receive their verification code, which they will need to provide in the next step as shown in the screenshot.
- After clicking on "Next", it will trigger a verification code or call from Meta to the phone number specified in the previous step by the User. Enter the code as it is in the space provided in the page.
- Clicking on Next will initiate final registration steps for the WABA that Facebook will perform on its own to verify and setup our WABA account.
- In the end, Meta will show you the messaging limits of the phone number and the limit for User initiated conversations (Unlimited).
- Click on "Finish". You will be automatically directed to the Meritto platform again with a popup displaying the registered WABA Name and WABA ID received from Meta. Users need to take note of the same for future reference.
- Click on "Got to App Store" to close the popup.
Your WABA Onboarding setup is complete. Congratulations!
How to add new phone number to WABA?
- Open the Meritto CRM.
- On the left-hand side, in the Menu panel, type "Extensions" in the search bar as shown.
- Click on Extensions. In the new page that opens, click on the "App Store" option as shown.
- As the "App Store" page opens, locate the WhatsApp Business App card.

Click on the three-dot button in the upper right-hand corner of the card and select "Configuration".
- A popup will open from the right-hand side of the screen as shown.
- Under the Profile tab, you will see details of your WABA, such as your institute's name, WABA ID, and the Billing Partner associated with your account.
- Click on the "Configuration" tab. You will see two options: "WhatsApp Number" and "Check Message Limit".
- Select "WhatsApp Number". A popup will open, allowing you to add a Display Name for the WABA number and enter the new phone number for verification.

Click on "Continue" to proceed with OTP verification.
- Meta will send an OTP message to the phone number specified in the previous step. Enter the received code in the popup.

After verification, a success message will be displayed, confirming that the number has been successfully added to your account.
Post this, the number needs to be added to the Meritto panel. Please reach out to your CS manager for further configurations on Meritto.
How to check WABA Number Quality and Messaging Limits?
- Open the Meritto CRM.

On the left hand side, in the Menu panel, type "Extensions" in the search bar as shown.
- Click on the Extensions. In the new page that opens up, click on the "App Store" option as shown.
- As the "App Store" page opens up, locate the WhatsApp Business App card.

Click on the three buttons on the upper right-hand side of the card. Select the option "Configuration".
- Now, a popup will open from the right hand side of the screen as shown.
- Under the Profile tab, it will list the details of your WABA like the name of your institute and your WABA ID along with the Billing Partner associated with your account.
- Click on the "Configuration" tab. You will see two options - WhatsApp Number" and "Check Message Limit".
- Select and click on the "Check Message Limit" option.
- A popup opens up whereby the User needs to add the number that has already been added and verified by Meta (Any number that has already been added to WABA account can only be used to check Quality and Messaging Limits).
- Add the Number and click on "Continue" or "Check" option.
- A message will be displayed in the format "TIER_250" or TIER_1K" or "TIER_10K" or TIER_100K" specifying the unique number of messages that can be sent by the institute via WABA per day.
Note:
- For freshly added numbers, the message limit is 250 per day. Meta will automatically update the same as per business communication and policies.
- For updating phone number details, description, profile photo, etc., users will need to update the same currently via the WhatsApp Business account on the Meta Business Portal.
- Only those numbers that have been added via Meritto will be available for use and checking Messaging Limits.
WABA Onboarded Number Profile Update and Official Business Account:
Once the Number is integrated the same will also be visible to the Client in their Facebook Business Manager Account.
- Log in to business.facebook.com/settings
- Select your Facebook business manager Account
- In the left panel select Account -> WhatsApp Accounts
- Select the profile/WhatsApp account just created
- Click on WhatsApp Manager
- Click on Profile section
- Under the Profile section you can update the following fields for your number
- Profile Photo (preferably Logo of Institute)
- Display Name (You can update your display name)
- Business Description
- Address
- Email I D
- Website address
- From the profile section itself you can also apply for Official Business Account
An official business account has a blue tick next to its name. This shows that WhatsApp has confirmed that an authentic and notable brand owns this account.
Prerequisite for Official Business Account:
- The article should have the exact Display name mentioned
- The articles should be recent (of last 6-8 months).
- The article should be of renowned publication (at least 5-6 articles) like TOI, Hindu, Indian Express etc.
- The articles should have different news (all articles should have different new articles)
