Overview
It has come to our attention that your WhatsApp Business account has been flagged for sending messages that are classified as spam. This activity is not in alignment with WhatsApp's Business Terms of Service.
Please note that continued non-compliance with WhatsApp's policies could result in the account being restricted or permanently disabled. To avoid any disruptions, we must ensure all messages sent from the account are directed only to recipients who have explicitly opted in to receive communication from us via WhatsApp.
It is recommended to review WhatsApp's Business policies and implement measures to prevent any future violations.
You can still send communications. However, please ensure that the messages are not sent in large volumes all at once. It would be prudent to segment your target group (TG) and send the messages in smaller batches to avoid any potential issues.
Please incorporate quick reply buttons in the communications and include the following message in the footer:
"Please reply 'STOP' if you no longer wish to receive communications from us."
This will help in increasing engagement.
Spam Monitoring Stages
Below are the stages of spam monitoring by Meta:
- Stage 1: Spamming Notification: Meta issues an initial notification regarding spamming activity.
- Stage 2: Temporary Pausing of Templates: If a template is marked as spam by the target group, it will be paused for 3 hours after the first instance, 6 hours after the second instance, and permanently disabled after the third instance of being flagged for spamming.
- Stage 3: Number Flagged by Meta: Continued spamming and multiple reports on different templates will result in Meta flagging the associated phone number.
- Stage 4:Tier Limit Reduction: As a consequence of spamming, Meta may reduce the account’s tier limit, restricting the number of messages that can be sent.
- Stage 5: Account Restriction: If the spamming continues, the WhatsApp account may be restricted for 30 days. During this period, there is an opportunity to appeal the restriction.
Note:
- Each of these stages can be reversed, and the account’s health can be restored as spamming activity decreases. However, if spamming persists and multiple reports are submitted, the account may face permanent suspension. In such cases, the chances of successful appeal or account reinstatement are minimal.
- If Spam reports are high at Stage 1, Meta can directly take action as per Stage 5.
