Follow the below steps for a lucid walks through to configure Digilocker for Aadhaar card verification, making the application experience more efficient and secure.
Backend Configuration
The user needs to have DigiLocker configuration in the back end. Kindly follow the below steps to enable the configuration for your account
Step 1: Search for "Extensions" in the search bar which appears on the left hand side of your Meritto Portal
Step 2: In the Extensions tab, under the integration panel, click on GOI Digital Wallet. Upon clicking it you will find the Digilocker icon, and click 'Connect' to proceed with the setup.
Step 3: After clicking 'Connect,' you’ll be directed to a page where you’ll need to enter the App ID and App Key. This setup enables applicants to directly upload their documents from their Digilocker Wallet
Step 4: Next, click on 'Aadhaar Authentication,' located just beside 'Document Upload Using Wallet.' Here, you’ll need to enter the Client ID and Client Secret Key. After entering these details, select the fields you want to match between the information from Digilocker and the applicant's provided details.
Step 5: Finally click on save.

Prerequisites
- List requirements: Digilocker account, Aadhaar-linked mobile number, and access to the application portal.
Step 1: The applicant arrives at the institute's page and fills the registration form and clicks on "Register" button. If he/she is an existing applicant then the applicant only needs to click on "Existing User Login" to arrive at the Student Dashboard
Step 2: Here the applicant fills the required details asked in the form - Personal and Family info, education details, etc.
Step 3: As the student progresses through the application form, they will encounter a field prompting Aadhaar card verification. This section will inquire if their Aadhaar is linked to a mobile number
Step 4: After clicking 'Yes,' the applicant will be redirected to Digilocker, where they will be required to enter both their Aadhaar number and the captcha code.
Step 5: Moving ahead the candidate will be required to enter the 6-digit security PIN associated with his/her DigiLocker Account.
Step 6: After the applicant has entered the 6-digit security PIN and click on continue you will be taken to the next page where you will be required ti give your consent to share the required documents with the specific institute. Click on "Allow" to proceed further.
Step 7: Once the candidate clicks on 'Allow,' they will be redirected back to the form, where they can now view if their full name, DOB, and Aadhaar number are valid as per the Digilocker Aadhaar records
Congratulations !!! You have successfully configured Digilocker and performed the Aadhar Authentication.
